I need help changing the ball joints on a Dodge Ram 3500 V10?

I have to change the ball joint on a 1997 dodge ram 3500 RWD and i need to find a way to compress the spring without killing myself and i dont know how to please helpI need help changing the ball joints on a Dodge Ram 3500 V10?you don't have to compress them on that truck like dave said you will have to pull the front axles out and use a ball joint press on them but you don't mess with the springs on it,i done one last week and it takes about an hour a side to replace those,if you have the right tools, good luck.I need help changing the ball joints on a Dodge Ram 3500 V10?You don't need to compress the springs to do that job on that truck.

You will however need a ball joint press to get the old joints out and the new ones in. And an air compressor and an impact wrench is preferred even if not completely necessary.

Sounds like you may be in a little over your head. Have you thought about finding a reputable repair shop to help you?

Best of Luck!
