How hard is it to change shocks on a toyota corolla?

Hey, I need to make a few repairs to my car, I need to change my shocks, and the ball joints. It's a toyota corolla, I think its about a 92. Does anyone know how hard it would be to do? and does anyone know of any %26quot;how to%26quot; sites? It's going to cost a fortune to bring to the shop :(How hard is it to change shocks on a toyota corolla? One of our associates who has worked on Toyota cars said you can change the shocks on your own. But, he advises that you need to compress the spring, and that can be very dangerous/ He said to use extreme caution when removing the spring. In order to do so, you will need a spring compressor that you should be able to rent from your local auto parts store. Then he suggests visiting your nearby library or auto store or bookstore to find a repair manual for your Corolla. The manual will have detailed step-by-step directions to replace the struts. Good luck!
