  • How hard is it to change shocks on a toyota corolla?

Hey, I need to make a few repairs to my car, I need to change my shocks, and the ball joints. It's a toyota corolla, I think its about a 92. Does anyone know how hard it would be to do? and does anyone know of any %26quot;how to%26quot; sites? It's going to cost a fortune to bring to the shop :(How hard is it to change shocks on a toyota corolla? One of our associates who has worked on Toyota cars said you can change the shocks on your own. But, he advises that you need to compress the spring, and that can be very dangerous/ He said to use extreme caution when removing the spring. In order to do so, you will need a spring compressor that you should be able to rent from your local auto parts store. Then he suggests visiting your nearby library or auto store or bookstore to find a repair manual for your Corolla. The manual will have detailed step-by-step directions to replace the struts. Good luck! How much will it cost to replace brakes, ball joint, wheel bolts and belt for a 99 VW beatle?

I need to get my rear brakes/rotors, one ball joint, two rear wheel bolts, and my serpentine belt replaced. I also need an oil change. How much should all this cost to fix including labor? Thanks! How much will it cost to replace brakes, ball joint, wheel bolts and belt for a 99 VW beatle?it will most likely run about 600.00 to 800.00 dollars. you can also go into a shop and get a written estimate. and that is at no charge. make sure it includes the price of parts and book time labor.. book time labor is the recommended time to make repairs to your car. the ball joint is about an hour, the belt is about an hour, half hour for each wheel stud, and about 2.5 hours for your rear brakes depending on the e-brake shoes. good luck!!How much will it cost to replace brakes, ball joint, wheel bolts and belt for a 99 VW beatle?Parts, you're looking at about 300$ from autozone, expect about 350$ from an independent shop, 450$ from the dealer. The dealer may charge as much as 100$ an hour, sometimes more. How much will it cost to replace brakes, ball joint, wheel bolts and belt for a 99 VW beatle?around 300 usd should be fairHow much will it cost to replace brakes, ball joint, wheel bolts and belt for a 99 VW beatle? What the heck happened to your car?

Rear brakes+ rotors (oem replacement around 150); ball joint at least 100, wheel bolts? Under 20. Serp belt about 30-40. But the installation is going to kill you 4 hours by book? About that...

At least 500 altogether at an indy shop.

How much should it cost to change a lower control arm in a 1993 old achieva, plus ball joint.?

I'm guessing this is on a 93 Achieva S, not SL, but here's a ballpark figure:

    OEM (aka 'brand-new'):

Lower control arm assembly - approximately $212

    knuckle (aka ball joint) $253

    labor $100

    alignment $50

LKQ (like kind and quality, aka 'used')

What's nice about your Achieva is that on the inside, it's exactly like a Pontiac Grand Am, a Buick Skylark, a Chevy Corsica, etc. Used parts are numerous and readily available.

Expect to pay about $65-75 for the lower control arm, and about the same for the ball joint; plus labor and alignment, about another $100-150.How much should it cost to change a lower control arm in a 1993 old achieva, plus ball joint.?i own a repair shop, and the labor part of it cost around 50 bucks to do,,the part you can get used from a good junk yard for around 35 bucks,,so that isn't to bad of a repair to have to do,,but that's what i charge,,you can use this price to help save you some money on the repair,,good luck,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

  • What would be the affect of having worn out Ball joints. How do I know its time to change them?

I have a Toyota Corolla 1996 with 220 K + on it. I am wondering what would be the affect of having worn out Ball joints. How do I know its time to change them? What are the signs? Thanks in advance for answer. What would be the affect of having worn out Ball joints. How do I know its time to change them?First sign of worn out ball joint, is too much play! and obviously bad handling. to check put the on a jack stand and wiggle the wheel, you can feel right away if there is any play ! now if you have handling problem on a car with 220k miles..it could be anything, suspension, joints, bushings you have replace everything to get it right, but it wouldn't be worth it. if the car is safe to drive I wouldn't put any money in to it. the reality is no matter how much you spend, it's only worth about $500 to $1000, max.

Good Luck! What would be the affect of having worn out Ball joints. How do I know its time to change them?Uneven tire wear and bad handling. Also you might hear a clunk when going over a bump or pothole.
