i have a 2005 and they have been replaced twice already--once b4 the recall, once after. going in for an oil change tomorrow and i've been feeling the same feeling that i did b4 when they needed to be replaced. how many times b4 you can expect them to do something about it? i've looked up the lemon law for NY and time limit is 18,000/2yrs. unfortunately i'm at 33,000. what do you all think? anyone else had problems?Jeep liberty--how many times have you had your ball joints replaced?Jeep has had a problem with the KJ ball joints. There have been 2 recalls out for the same reason. Some people have had ball joints replaced up to 5 times. And yes, it is something to worry about. When the balljoint gives out, you lose control of the vehicle and in most cases, body damage is unavoidable. Ball joints should not have to be replaced that often. Unless you do some serious off road use. Unless the parts were cheap to begin with a good set of ball joints should last at least 10 years. You could have wheel or tire issues of maybe just need some bushings replaced.
