My Saab passenger control arm?

I have a Saab 9-3. The lower ball joint is bad on the car on the passenger side. They don't offer to just buy the ball joint to press in to replace. You have to just replace the whole lower control arm. So my question is how easy is it to change a control arm? My plan is to order the part online, then my bro and I will use his tools to change, then bring it to get an alignment afterwards. My Saab passenger control arm?In the world of mechanics, it rates as fairly easy really...

I'm not that familiar with Saab's, but the steps are pretty much standard...jack up the car, take off the wheel, put it on jack stands. If you have strut/coil type suspension, leave it attached. Separate the ball joint first (you'll probably need a puller for that, it is a press actually), from the steering knuckle, loosen and remove the strut rod nut/washer from the control arm end and loosen a couple turns the other frame end up front. Then tackle the pivot bolt and nut on the inner attachment point...

The hardest points will be the ball joint, the strut rod nuts, and the pivot bolt and nut. Have some wd40 for the rust, and some silicone grease or petroleum jelly (at least) handy for reassembly. Be careful, and take your time...My Saab passenger control arm? It's not that hard.My Saab passenger control arm?IT is very easy to replace. Tip (count the threads on the old arm or measure it and adjust the new arm before you install. 0

How much could i see my truck for?

I want to get rid of my big truck and get a small car cause of gas

I have a 94 Ford F-150 5-8 liter 4x4 extended cab step up with 188285 miles

it has new brake pads front and back, new ball joints in front, new spark plugs, wires and distributor cap and rotor runs, and oil changed great and pretty good on gas for a big truckHow much could i see my truck for?you can see it for free, but only sell it for 2500 or lessHow much could i see my truck for?Go to www.kbb.com (Kelly Blue Book), fill in all the stats on your truck, and it will tell you how much you can get out of it.How much could i see my truck for?look at kbb.com or edmunds.com for a resale price, however it will probably be a little less since these types of vechiles are not in demand at the moment. .How much could i see my truck for?At this time trucks like yours are not in high demand. So what you think it is worth, divide that by 2 and hope you can sell it. I have a truck like this and I know what it is worth, can I get that much for it, NO! If I want to sell it than I'll get about half of what its worth.. that is if I could find a buyer. So you will need to decide if the lost you get is worth the gas you'll save.

Why does my brake warning light stay on, on my 2000 ford expedition ?

i have a 2000 ford expedition xlt (not 4wheel drive) i took it in for an oil change and the guy there told me that my brake pads needed to be changed and that i also needed a ball joint replacement and coil pack. so i got everything done today including an unexpected brake caliper replacement. and now all of a sudden while driving, my brake warning light wont turn off. ive never had this problem before. im assuming it has something to do with how the guy put my break pads in but i know nothing about cars. please help. is this something i should be worried about ? what could be causing this ?Why does my brake warning light stay on, on my 2000 ford expedition ?Since you say that the light came on after replacing the brake caliper, it may just be that the brake fluid level in the master cylinder is low and turning the light on.Why does my brake warning light stay on, on my 2000 ford expedition ?Take it back to that shop. I believe there's a disc wear sensor on the front brakes. It wasn't installed properly.

Wanting to sell a 1991 Plymouth Voyager LE how much do you think it'll go for?

I have a 1991 Plymouth Voyager LE with 166,000 miles on the boy and unkown on the engine(It's been replaced once). The Transmission has two clutches and the shift recoil going out. Plust the Engine control module is shorting. I have put in a new autinator, new tie rod ends, new ball joints, a new battery, the engine purrs like a kitten but with the two clutches and the recoil it jerks whenever changing into 2nd and Overdrive(it has a 3 speed auto with Overdrive) The engine is a 3.3 Liter V6. With the new parts in how much do you think it would go for if i tried to sell it?Wanting to sell a 1991 Plymouth Voyager LE how much do you think it'll go for?Go to www.NADA.com....It will give you the value.Wanting to sell a 1991 Plymouth Voyager LE how much do you think it'll go for?you should be able to get 1500 or better out of it. but sell it yourselfWanting to sell a 1991 Plymouth Voyager LE how much do you think it'll go for?i would say maybe 10000 or lower just have the buyer make na offer and if you ant sastifyed with the offer than i would tell him to go on a hikeWanting to sell a 1991 Plymouth Voyager LE how much do you think it'll go for?IF these run perfect they are worth about 800-1000. Yours needs a $1500.00 transmission overhaul. It is worth ZERO. You might be able to find a mechanic to give you a hundred bucks for it if he wants to fix it himself...Looks like you used it all up! All the replacement parts you put on were replacements of worn out parts. They ADD no value to the vehicle. My suggestion if you have the space is to go buy another one yourself for about $1500 bucks that is REALLY nice...and take all the good parts off this one, put them in a box in the garage, and send the rest of it to the junkyard! Good luck!Wanting to sell a 1991 Plymouth Voyager LE how much do you think it'll go for?not much

selling private would get $500-$700 If its clean

10 years car sales experienceWanting to sell a 1991 Plymouth Voyager LE how much do you think it'll go for?scrap itWanting to sell a 1991 Plymouth Voyager LE how much do you think it'll go for?sell it yourself, but add some saw dust to the transmission, it will silence any noises from the tranny, and you might actually get away with it. if you got 800 for it i think you would be doing good. if the ecu is going out that cars days are numbered. you might just want to think about parting it out. you could probbaly get $1500 for parts and then sell it to a junk yard for $50 bucks. if your state has a lemon law then they can come back and demand the money they paid. its a tough call...Wanting to sell a 1991 Plymouth Voyager LE how much do you think it'll go for?I can see that you like to get your use out of your vehicles! Nobody wants to buy a car with a bad tranny unless they have a car with a bad engine and a good tranny. You might do better to try to find one of these! Just remember, you don't know how many miles are on their tranny, just like no one really knows how much longer your motor has before it hits the skids. Honestly, your car is not worth much of anything. Count your blessings for getting the life that you got out of it! Ask yourself %26quot;Would I buy a 1991 ANYTHING with 166,000 miles on it?%26quot; And then, what would you pay for it, with a bad tranny? Remember your answers because when you see the guy with the Voyager that has the good tranny and bad motor, his is worth just as much as yours. Don't pay one penny more!Wanting to sell a 1991 Plymouth Voyager LE how much do you think it'll go for?not much you are better off trading it in.Wanting to sell a 1991 Plymouth Voyager LE how much do you think it'll go for?5 billion sex money shitttttttttttttttttt

  • My gas gage just moves all over the place never know how much gas i have help.?

I can leave the gas station and have a 1/2 tank and drive to my house and the gage will go from that to almost empty and back. All on flat ground. It is always all over the place what makes this happen. Also not sure if related to problem but while in park my truck shakes sometimes while sitting at a light and sometimes it does not.Changed fuel filter, oil changed and filter, put fuel system cleaner in,new spark plugs, had my ball joints on the front changed.I dont have a clue and i really need some help.I have a 2000 ford explorer with 140,000 miles and it ran great until our state made us use gas that had ethenol in it could this be the problem?I dont know i am out of ideas i need some outside help.ThanxMy gas gage just moves all over the place never know how much gas i have help.?ok, 1st problem fuel guage: since you staed it does this on flat sufaces, more than likely the sensor is bad in the tank and will need replacing/or the guage tself is bad, hwever try replacing the one in the tank first as it is less costly than removing your dashboard simply to get to the guage :)

2nd problem shaking: this sounds like it may be the vibration damper on your vehicle. unfortunatly this can be a lil costly to replace, but the good news is that unless its affecting your driving capabilities while in motion, then this really doesnt need to be replaced immediatly.

hope this has been helpful :)My gas gage just moves all over the place never know how much gas i have help.?The gas could be responsible for the change in the way it runs, I don't know, our gas has had ethenol in it for awhile now so I wouldn't know... but I believe I heard something about causing poor fuel economy and running. Did you change the fuel filter as well?

For the gauge, just take it to the shop. It's just the gauge or sending unit or some part of that system. While you are there you can ask them about the other problem and find out what it would cost for them to take a look at it.

In my experience fuel pumps usually just go out, with very little warning. Usually after filling up your tank completely! yay...

Have you checked your coolant? Low coolant will sometimes make your rpms go crazy.

Anyway, it's really hard for anyone to diagnose your problems over the computer. And if you are short on money, you can't afford to be guessing. Diagnosis does cost money... because it tells you exactly what you need to know to fix it right the first time, which saves you money.

How expensive would it be to replace ball joints?

in my 91 park avenue? I was told by a midas machanic that my left tire, that the ball joints are going bad (hence my car sways side to side when driving) but i was curious as to what it would cost me? and is it an easy enough fix where a %26quot;non mechanic%26quot; like my self can fix? ( i've changed my own brakes %26quot;rotors and drum brakes%26quot; aswell as fixed other problems i've had w/ the engine....this is my second car and I'd be more than happy w/ having the mechanical lesson, but it's almost october and it's getting pretty cold in michingan. thanks yaHow expensive would it be to replace ball joints?Get yourself a book first of all, and see what it looks like to replace them. You should have a book for it anyhow.

I mark where the old ball joints are with a scribe or white out before unbolting them, and put the new ones in the same place, then go get aligned.

Not too expensive for ball joints, probably about $40 a side, but you should really check alignment afterwards.Minor/intermediate job.

What is really important to do in the 15000-mi service appt for a Toyota Rav4?

My 2005 Toyota Rav4 (4WD) is due for a 15,000-mi service. But, the dealership charges $199 for it! I understand the oil change, tire rotation, and checking the air filter/brake pads are important. How important is it to re-torque the drive shaft bolt? What does that even mean?

Here are the other recommended things to inspect:

~ Ball joints and dust covers

    ~ Brake lines and hoses

    ~ Drive shaft boots

    ~ Engine coolant 5

    ~ Exhaust pipes and mountings

    ~ Radiator core and condenser

    ~ Rear differential oil

    ~ Steering gear box

    ~ Steering linkage and boots

    ~ Transfer case oil

I do about 60% city driving with about 40% highway driving in an urban environment with light-medium traffic. I haven't driven off-road yet. What is really important to do in the 15000-mi service appt for a Toyota Rav4?I would change oil and filter, check and replace air cleaner if necessary, check the fulid levels and maybe rotate the tires. Engine coolant should be changed on a 24 month cycle. Also check the wiper blades.

BMW 320i Drivers Side Wheel migraton foward?

This has me stumped, my wife complained about a noise coming from the front end on her 81 BMW 320i. I drove it drove fine but occasionally when backing and turning I heard what sounded like a front tire rubbing against a fender. Odd as it is totally stock and hadn't been in an accident/curbhopped. Sure enough I see the begining of paint wear at the front of the fender wheel opening. I took wheel off inspected for bent parts or obvious damage, all looked good and seems tight.

then when I put it back down I notice that the wheel seems to be sitting foward in the well. I measure compared to the other side and sure enough it's about 1.25%26quot; forward. I tell wife to make an alignment appointment and just drive it to work and back till we get it in. I check the wheel today and it's almost touching the front of the wheel well opening. It moved another inch and some change. Is it a bad strut? ball joint? I've never encountered wheel migration like this, how bizarre.

Thanks in advance.BMW 320i Drivers Side Wheel migraton foward?Bushings....maybe but not likely....they wouldn't allow the wheel to move THAT much. I would look at the lower ball joint. It's probably ready to fall completely off....stop driving this car until you replace it. You will need to take off the wheel, brake, and remove the hub from the strut. Make sure you mark the strut bolts and strut so you don't have to realign when you reassemble. Good luck.BMW 320i Drivers Side Wheel migraton foward?Just drive it to 'work %26amp; back' for afew more months, just a wheel, it's not like it'll kill anybody, RIGHT ?BMW 320i Drivers Side Wheel migraton foward?motor or tranny mountBMW 320i Drivers Side Wheel migraton foward?sounds like a control arm bushing has broken or come loose. i would have it checked as soon as possible as it could be very dangerous.BMW 320i Drivers Side Wheel migraton foward?I'd go for a separating lower control arm bushing on this one too. Bad bushings can result in a suprising amount of movement in the control arm. This should be visible, especially when you compare the one side to the other.

  • Help with Bearings Ball joints and tie rod for escalade?

I had a bump in my 04 ESV and was getting the Stability control message. Today I went to the dealer and they told me the front bearings were very loose. Left upper and lower ball joints are loose. Right front inner tie rod end is loose and boot is torn. They quoted 1708 for parts and 1162 for labour total with tax 3330$. I found parts cheaper from part source and on ebay but wondered if it is difficult to change this myself.

Any help would be great some instruction how to change these parts.

    Thanks for any help.

04 escalade esv with 200,000km. standard wheelsHelp with Bearings Ball joints and tie rod for escalade?I'll second Richards response! This is not a job you want to tackle. There are specialty tools required and an alignment needs to be done after the parts are replaced. The dealer quote seems really high to me as well. Try to find a reputable independent shop and have them inspect the vehicle and give you an estimate. Don't tell them what the dealer told you or found. See if they find and recommend the same items be replaced. You should also have them show you the parts and explain why they are bad. You do need to be prepared to pay them for their time in inspecting your vehicle and writing an estimate if you do not have them do the repairs.Help with Bearings Ball joints and tie rod for escalade?no very easy.Help with Bearings Ball joints and tie rod for escalade?Easy for some, difficult for others. Buy yourself a shop manual or a Haines Manual. It will help you step by step. Hope you also have the necessary tools.Help with Bearings Ball joints and tie rod for escalade? Not to be an *** here, but if you had to ask that question, you probably shouldn't. Unless you have a friend who is a whiz at mechanical things.Help with Bearings Ball joints and tie rod for escalade? You said front bearings are very loose, these are sealed bearings and require a press to change them. Inner tie rod bad, can be removed by striking the mount collar hard or a fork splitter. Ball joints require a ball joint press to remove and install them and an alignment should be done when all parts are replaced. These are not the usual back yard mechanic type repairs. Speciality tools are required and I doubt that you have them. The cost you mentioned is high, suggest you get another estimate from an independent shop.

How do you fix a loose steering wheel?

i've had a loose steering wheel for a while. When driving down the road i have to keep moving the steering wheel slightly from side to side to go straight. i was told to change all these parts. I just had the steering box, tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm and ball joints replaced. After everything was done, i got an alignment, but i still have the same problem. what could be the problem???? any help will be very useful. How do you fix a loose steering wheel?Smith sounds about right. I would check the air pressure in the tires as well, (do it yourself) that will make allot of difference if they are under pressure and they may not look it. There is also a nut and bolt on the top of older cars (i'm not sure if the new ones still have it) steering box that will take out excess slack in side to side movement in steering. But you need someone who knows what he is doing and someone you trust. Loose steering wheels are inherent in some cars that are deemed as family sedans. If you drive a luxery family sedan, you're even more out of luck.

Replacing ball joints, how do you remove torsion bars?

Can some one give me the procedure for replacing the lower ball joints on a 99 gmc yukon 4wd. It has torsion bars, how do I loosen them and how much? Could I just keep a jack under the control arm instead? 聽The ball joints are the press in type and I have rented a ball joint press from the auto store. Please dont give me the %26quot;save my time and my knuckles and pay someone to do it%26quot; speech, I have all the time in the world, it's a second vehicle, and I'm willing to cut my knuckles to save $400.00. I have changed the breaks and rotors, shocks and the front drive shafts on this truck previously so I am capable of doing the job, I just need the procedure.

Replacing ball joints, how do you remove torsion bars? Just keep a floor jack under the lower control arm, seperate the lower ball joint from the spindle, and use a ball joint press.Replacing ball joints, how do you remove torsion bars?On flat ground measure your ground to frame distance first (write it down)

Then set the truck up securly on jack standS on it's Frame.

unscrew the tension bolts in the torsion bars untill the tension is relived compleatly.

remove the tension rods and your control arms.

I use 2 HD sockets and a mini sledge hammer to %26quot;press%26quot; my bushings in and out.

1 socket to catch or cup/lift the bushing , and 1 to drive it in or out with a mini sledge .

lightly Greease the contact surfaces B4 installing , it helps much more.

Once you get it back together , try to set your torsion bolts as close as you took them off at.

your final tension bolt adjustment (the measurement) will come when the truck is back setting on all 4 wheels.

If you don't have a book...............Spend $20 and get one first.

You will find a repair book is worth much more then $20

This is one %26quot;Tonka%26quot; of a repair proceedure though.

    Not hard but big parts.

    Safety is essential

Replacing ball joints, how do you remove torsion bars?Mark the end of the torsion bar and the frame so when you loosen the torsion bar you can tighten them back to the same spot. Just use a paint stick or markerReplacing ball joints, how do you remove torsion bars? Not necessary to remove torsion bars. Just keep a jack under the control arm, then disconnect and press out the ball joint. And if you don't have a ball joint press, a big hammer and a couple of appropriately sized impact sockets will do the job just fine.

    Ball joints ?

It's that time of year to get a state vehicle inspection sticker. Garage 1 said upper and lower ball joints on both sides were bad, needed to be changed and front end alignment before I can get a sticker. Garage 2 said nothing was wrong with the ball joints just needed a front end alignment. How do I check the ball joints on my own to see if the ball joints are bad or not? Thanks.Ball joints ?Do you get any clunking sound when you step on the brakes? The sound is a low thunk in the front end. But if you jack up the front end where both wheels are off the ground, (but make sure you lift it by the frame, you want the weight of the car off the suspension). Then you can either use a heavy pry bar , put it under the center of the tire and lift. Have someone look under the suspension at the same timeat the ball joints. There should be very little play in the joints, if they pop up and down easily, then its time for a replacement. Also grab your tires by hand from both sides of the tire and wiggle side to side, look at the suspension, thereshould be no play or bouncing in the idler arm, centerlink or tie rod ends.If so, time to replace them too.

easiest thing to do is go to a 3rd garage and ask to see the affected parts while he tests them for you if he says that you need parts too.

good luckBall joints ?If your tires are wearing unevenly you may have bad ball joints. I would get it inspected and let them tell you and if they say your ball joints are bad and your front end is out of alignment. You should get a free re-inspection if they find something wrong. Garage 1 sounds like they want to separate you from your money. If you do get the ball joints replaced get the greasable kind and keep them greased at every oil change and they will last a long time, possibly 200,000 miles. That's how long I got out of mine.Ball joints ?Jack up a front wheel. Put a board or something under the wheel and try to lift up. There should be NO free play. If there is, it is ball joints.Ball joints ?IF YOU CAN JACK UP THE VEHICLE SO THE FRONT TIRES ARE JUST OFF THE GROUND GET SOMEONE TO PUT A LONG PRY BAR UNDER THE TIRE AND AS THEY APPLY PRESSURE IF THE BALL JOINTS ARE BAD THERE WILL BE MOVENENT IN THE SHAFT OF THE BALL JOINT WHERE IT CONNECTS TO THE SPINDLE ASSEMBLY

IF THERE IS NO PLAY THERE THEY SHOULD BE GOOD

The 1999 Chevy Blazer seems to be the modern day Yugo. With all the problems, how can we make GM take notice?

At 36,500 miles already replaced my second set of ball joints. The idler arms have been changed. New tires, shocks, three batteries, alternator, serpantine belt at 10,000 miles, AWD switch, power lumbar seats stopped working, leaks oil, changed emergency break cable. Electrical disturbances randomly occur. Four alignments and the car still pulls right. Mechanics are puzzled. This vehicle has never been off road, the oil is changed every 3,000 miles and is garage kept. It has never been involved in an accident since I bought it brand new from the dealer. It appears most owners of the s-10 blazer from 1995 on have experienced very similar problems. Especially front end ones. The car looks brand new but it's a total money pit and after just finishing front end work it still has a severe pull to the right. Any help would be appreciated. The 1999 Chevy Blazer seems to be the modern day Yugo. • Any vauxhall mechanics ,how easy are the track rod arms to change (NOT TRACK ROD ENDS) i was told just a case?

of removing the steering rubbers and un screwing the arms i have play in both steering ball joint and ont want to replace the whole thing cheers before any answers please note i dont man track rod ends but the threaded arms and i already have the parts so i know these can be replaced on there own thanksAny vauxhall mechanics ,how easy are the track rod arms to change (NOT TRACK ROD ENDS) i was told just a case?Easy enough to be fair depending on what car you have. Remove the track rod end (count how many turns it took to remove) and locknut. Snip the gaitor clips off and slide the gaitors down and off the rods.

The rods themselves usually need a large spanner to undo them but access can be very difficult due to the subframe, depending on the car. Sometimes a molegrips on the rounded part of the nut can be used.

Undo the old one, screw in the new. Refit above and screw the rod ends back on the same amount of turns.

    Get it tracked accurately!!!

i have a 2005 and they have been replaced twice already--once b4 the recall, once after. going in for an oil change tomorrow and i've been feeling the same feeling that i did b4 when they needed to be replaced. how many times b4 you can expect them to do something about it? i've looked up the lemon law for NY and time limit is 18,000/2yrs. unfortunately i'm at 33,000. what do you all think? anyone else had problems?Jeep liberty--how many times have you had your ball joints replaced?Jeep has had a problem with the KJ ball joints. There have been 2 recalls out for the same reason. Some people have had ball joints replaced up to 5 times. And yes, it is something to worry about. When the balljoint gives out, you lose control of the vehicle and in most cases, body damage is unavoidable. If you are really concerned, contact Chrysler.Jeep liberty--how many times have you had your ball joints replaced?0 lolJeep liberty--how many times have you had your ball joints replaced?it's just ball joints...you don't need to freak out and lemon law it for that. If it were the engine that needed replaced that many times, then i'd be thinking about lemon laws.Jeep liberty--how many times have you had your ball joints replaced?Sounds like you are getting ripped off. Ball joints should not have to be replaced that often. Unless you do some serious off road use. Unless the parts were cheap to begin with a good set of ball joints should last at least 10 years. You could have wheel or tire issues of maybe just need some bushings replaced.

I own several pre Chrysler Jeeps and have only replaced the ball joints only when rebuilding the front suspension or the off chance I break one.Jeep liberty--how many times have you had your ball joints replaced?you should never be charged again to have you lower ball joints replaced it doesnt matter how many times they fail they will ALWAYS be covered under the recall

What exactly is a delf doll (ball-jointed doll) ?

Ive seen some things about delf, luts, or blythe, i have NO idea what they are, if they are the same or how to find stuff out of about them! I really want a doll though, where can i buy a body/head? And i saw on one site there about $300, is there any that are cheaper?

How do you change the makeup? can you always change it? Where are places to buy clothes/wigs?

help!?What exactly is a delf doll (ball-jointed doll) ?Real BJDs (ball jointed dolls) are generally resin dolls made in Asia. The name is from the fact that the body parts are all separate pieces - the lower arm is separate from the upper arm, the hand is separate from the lower arm etc. These pieces meet in ball and socket joints that are only held together by the elastic stringing of the doll. Sometimes the lower piece will have a built in ball end and the upper piece has a scooped in %26quot;socket%26quot; shape to match the ball. Sometimes the balls are separate and the body sections all end in sockets. There are some vinyl true BJDs made in the US (like Goodreau American BJD) but in general these are not accepted on the largest US BJD board, Den of Angels due to their American look and proportions.

Real resin BJDs come in 4 basic sizes - tinies (everything under 35cm or so), MSD or mini or 1/4 size (40cm-46cm), SD or 1/3 size (56-64cm) and a less common larger size around 70cm. The minimum prices run for about $90 for the cheapest tiny, Under $200 for the cheapest mini, probably under $280 for the cheapest SD size, but the typical prices are higher. About a dozen brands can sometimes be found at US resellers like http://www.denverdoll.com/ and http://www.junkyspot.com/ (note - they may only show the models they have in stock. And the small Obitsus at JunkySpot are not BJDs, nor are many of the large Obitsus, and they are not resin).

Many doll sellers misuse the term BJD when selling dolls that are not BJDs. Blythe is not a BJD. Momoko, Volks Dollfie 21-27cm and the similar Obitsus are not BJDs yet sellers often call them that.

Re heads and bodies - unless you are an expert at resin matching and and modding resin, you cannot buy heads and bodies from different manufacturers or different lines within one manufacturer and expect them to match or fit. BJDs are usually purchased assembled with head, nude and unpainted. They often come with random eyes and a random wig. They may come with underwear. They rarely come with clothing unless you buy a more expensive limited fullset. The faceup (face painting, sealing, eyelashes) is usually available for extra cost.

Re clothing - every manufacturer's body is different. Not all 1/4, mini, MSD clothing will fit all minis, expecially since some BJDs are mature and some are not. The same goes for other sizes of BJD.

Re the facups - the resin head needs to be cleaned and air-dried and then sprayed with a very toxic type of sealer spray that can only be used properly outside, with protection, in dry temperate non-breezy weather. It is a special fine spray clear matte lacquer spray called MR Super Clear Flat or UV Cut Flat (aka MSC). Alternately Model Master Lusterless Clear lacquer Overcoat can be used. Two careful thin coats is what I do. Then the faceup is done with acrylics and chalk pastels and sometime watercolor pencils (all non-oily). The faceup may be done in a couple of layers and sealed between. Then the final overcoats of MSC are done. Then somehow you put lashes on with a bit of white glue. So yes, it can be redone, but you first would have to remove all of that, without smearing it, and hope none of the colors stained through the undercoat. if you stay away from intense colors there is less chance of staining.

Clothes and wig shopping depends on what BJD you have.

On the right here are links to lists of shops - the clothes links are first. Wigs link is at the bottom of the list.

    http://zoneofzen.com/

Delf is what http://www.eluts.com/ calls some of its BJDs.

Blythe is a big-headed vinyl/plastic fashion doll that some people customize. What exactly is a delf doll (ball-jointed doll) ?Go to Den of Angels and start reading. Every single one of your questions is answered there.

    Basically:

    - Delf is the main brand of dolls sold by Luts. Blythes are completely different. Google pictures if you need to see what I mean.

    - Luts sells full dolls, as does pretty much every other major company out there (Volks, Doll in Mind, Dream of Doll, Dollzone...)

    - Bobobie sells cheaper dolls, but their prices are about as low as you're going to get for a 60cm/SD sized doll. $300 for that size is generally considered to be on the lower end of the range anyway.

    - Yes you can always change the makeup, but it's complicated so you really should learn more about it before even THINKING about doing it so you don't damage the doll.

    - Anywhere that sells dolls will also sell clothes and wigs.

    Seriously...visit Den of Angels.

I have a 2004 volkswagen passatt tdi. How do you change the bulbs in the front headlights?

I cannot seem to see how do you take the assembly out of its socket to change a bulb. On some cars I saw it's an easy thing such as turning off a clamp or pulling a ball socket out of a joint. On this car I can't seem to figure it out.

  • A question about ball joints?

i have a 1988 olds delta 88 3.8 and i got control arms and ball joints on the back and how hard is it to change them?A question about ball joints?MOST CONTROL ARMS EITHER FRONT OR REAR COME WITH BALL JOINTS AND BUSHING ALREADY INSTALLED. SO ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS REMOVER THE OLD ARMS AND INSTALL THE NEW ONES.A question about ball joints?Does it have rear wheel steering?

That makes no sense.A question about ball joints? If you can get the arms off then you can use a machine shop to have the old and new ones pressed on/offA question about ball joints?Using any generic ball joint puller should do the trick. No fancy tools.A question about ball joints?take the cotter pin out of the crown nut go to any auto parts store and either buy or ask them if they rent a ball joint fork for a small deposit.

hammer the fork in between the ball joint and the hub to free it. pry down on the control arm to get the old ball joint arm out. do the opposite to install new one.A question about ball joints? The rear wheels do not steer, therefore you do not have rear ball joints. You have control arms, and control arm bushings. Not difficult to change.

Why do you ask, and who told you that you have rear ball joints?

How do i change a hub assembly on a 93 plymouth voyager?

i heard u have to take apart the ball joint and tie rod end is this trueHow do i change a hub assembly on a 93 plymouth voyager? No that is not true. Take off the caliper and rotor, then the assembly unbolts from the steering knuckle. You would only have to mess with the ball joint and tie rod if it was pressed into the knuckle. How do i change a hub assembly on a 93 plymouth voyager?Get yourself a Haynes or Chilton manual and it will explain exactly how to do it.

Exactly how can I tell if the front ball Joints are going bad in my?

`01 Sable ? The car runs fine. What can happen if they r bad and I don`t have them changed, I`m also told I have a broken rear spring. Very costly job to have all replaced. Is that correct ? The rest of the car is in excellent condition, so do not plan to trade. It has 67,000 miles on it.Exactly how can I tell if the front ball Joints are going bad in my?They should not have worn out at 67,000 miles, but to check them accuratly you need to go to a mechanic. many ball joints are designed to have some vertical movement Of up to 80 thousands of an inch but others do not.

If they are badly worn this could lead to excessive tyre wear and at the extreme failure of the joint at which time you do not want to be traveling at speed

A full set of springs would be expensive . I would only replace both rear ones If one is really brokenExactly how can I tell if the front ball Joints are going bad in my?jack up front tire. place one hand on top of wheel one hand on bottom push in with top hand while pulling out with bottom and vice versa. if wheel moves in and out ball joints r bad

Can you please give me advice on how to change out wheel bearings on a Mitsubishi Eclipse?

I am working on a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse and the drivers side front wheel bearing is bad. I have taken off everything brakes, control arm lower ball joint, axle, etc. but I can't get the wheel bearing out. There are four bolts that's holding the assymbly in that I took out already. What is the proper method for getting out the wheel bearing? I don't want to screw up because this is my only vehicle. I have heard of people pressing the bearing out with a arbor press. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks in advance. Can you please give me advice on how to change out wheel bearings on a Mitsubishi Eclipse?the best advise I can give you from experience...Is to buy your bearings and take the old and new parts to a machine shop....They will have all the tools necessary to do the job the right way...They shouldnt really only charge you about 25 dollars, but you will save more in the long run....Can you please give me advice on how to change out wheel bearings on a Mitsubishi Eclipse?you need a bearing puller, it has hooks that go on the back of the bearing and a threaded center piece that you hook a wrench/ beaker bar onto and it pushes on the axle end to pull the bearing out. they sell these at sears but they are not really cheap. you also need a press to put the new bearing back on. the press is really expensive or if you can fabricate a bottle jack w/ bearing sleeve you can press it back on.

or you can try to heat it up by a blow torch then use a socket and hammer to knock it out.

to place in new bearing, put everything in the freezer for overnight

your best bet is a press.....less headacheCan you please give me some advice on how to change out wheel bearings?I'm not 100% sure, but there should be a bearing cap in the center of the brake rotor/hyb.Use a slip-joint pliers to remove cap, there will be a cotter pin going through the slotted nut.Remove pin, remove nut,rotor/hub should just about fall off.Remove inner and outer bearings, clean and reinstall new bearings with fresh grease. This is the normal procedure for a rear wheel drive car, yours is front wheel drive I assume, might be different. The library should have a repair manual if this wrong.Have fun.Can you please give me some advice on how to change out wheel bearings?A quick search at Advance shows they sell them as a bearing and hub assembly...the cheaper of the two there goes for $93...I don't know why you took off the control arm and ball joint, all you have to do is remove the brake caliper and axle nut (very tight), slip the whole hub off, and put the new one on...tightening the axle nut is very important. Oh yes, the four bolts you mention should be the holding bolts for the strut assembly, that's where it actually attaches to the suspension.

How long should it take to change an 89 Honda Accord clutch?

Im no mechanic but still know my way around a garage. I hear the sway bar drop is easier then going the ball joint way. Any info would be awsome. How long should it take to change an 89 Honda Accord clutch?just cruisin along not trying to braek any records or parts its hard to say how long it'll take you. really depends on what kind of probs you run into if you run into any at all. I'm gonna say if your not done in 3 to 4 hours or if the finish line isnt at least in sight by then you may want to take a break and maybe invite a friend who you feel also knows his or her way around the garage and tool box to come over and help you wrap it up. just for the sake of two heads are better than one (usually). oh and about the torsion bar thing Please do your self a favor leave that thing alone. just remove the axels the way they were meant to be removed you'll and when you put the ball joint back together be sure to pay close attention to the flat side of the ball joint stud and make sure you line it up with the flat side of the hole. If it's set up like that and it gets overlooked it will go together without any notice-able problems, but later on will come apart while the vehicle is in motion trust me, not a pretty mess. But still its way more worth it than attempting to remove those axles without dropping the ball joint. Besides in order to r%26amp;r that trans you may ebd up with the torsion bar off anyway as well. If your find you have access Mitchell Manuals are very user friendly. and You could also call your locall mechanic and ask him what the Michell or Chilton book time is for R%26amp;R on that clutch. How long should it take to change an 89 Honda Accord clutch?Maybe 2-4 hrs.Extra time to resurface flywheel or easier to replace it.How long should it take to change an 89 Honda Accord clutch?About 4hrs to 5hrs at home no power tools and a couple of 12 packs later. How long should it take to change an 89 Honda Accord clutch? You must look at a repair book, like a Chilton's....'cause you're getting into all kinds of strange territory with Honda's...and do you have metric tools? Have fun. Oh, have patience too.....like for a few days if you're going to spend 8 or more hours a day on this.....'cause you just %26quot;know you're way around the garage%26quot; huh? Well. An experienced Honda mechanic, trained, certified, could do it in 1 day. I'm a fulltime mechanic, but if someone came to me, I'd turn it down...I've got enough problems now. Like I said....have fun.

You will need a jack and one axel stand to do this repair.

Expect to hammer the old one out with a hammer.

You do not need to have an alignment done when changing upper ball joints.Upper ball joint on 1995 thunderbird?on the tbird, you replace the whole upper control arm. I have a 92 and need to do one myself. Look at rockauto.com. They are around 27 bucks on up depending on quality and warranty. They are not like other cars with the easy to remove upper ball joints. Swapping the whole arm is how you do these.

You need to borrow a ball joint removal tool kit from Auto Zone after you've popped the ball joint loose from the lower A-arm. Auto Zone has a tool to pop the ball joint loose. A %26quot;pitman%26quot; arm removal tool will release the taper of the ball-joint from the A-arm.How can i install lower balljoint on a 1995 honda civic with out a press?if you got the old one off then when you put the new one on, use the big nut as you tighten it up it will pull the balljoint into position. if the old one is still on,and there is a big nut on it, sometimes you need a correct sized pickle fork to split them apartHow can i install lower balljoint on a 1995 honda civic with out a press?Use the nut to draw it in, while hitting the side with a hammer. Make sure it continues to go in straight. How can i install lower balljoint on a 1995 honda civic with out a press?Start by removing the tire then the by removing the ball joint retaining. before removing the nut place a small jack under the a arm put a little pressure on it then loosen the nut if the ball joint is riveted in drill the rivets out then the ball joint should just come out. The new ball joints should come with bolts to re inststall

\How can i install lower balljoint on a 1995 honda civic with out a press? There is no other way then use the pressing tools. Other way such the seized fork or tighten nut using the old might can be done, but please considering the pressure you can give then the tools. A loosen ball joint is absolutly dangerous the driving experience, if it's loosen from the house you might loose control and jeopardies other driver. Loosing ball joint will make the wheel loosing it's toe position, and the wheel might hit the shockbreaker. How can i install lower balljoint on a 1995 honda civic with out a press?you want to know a secret dear? this is the way i do it and it works too. what i do is put the new ball joint in the freezer for about a day then after i pound the old 1 out i put the new ball joint in a cooler until i,am ready for it then it slips right through the hole. but you have to be quick about it. you see when steel gets cold it shrinks and once it gets warmed up it expands. i did that more then once. How can i install lower balljoint on a 1995 honda civic with out a press?the best way to work on ball joints is to have the right tool for the right job and the right person to do it.

any mistake you make may cause it to drop while driving either on high speed or rough road and may cause more serious damage to you and your car.

now.. this is what you can do.. for honda civic with A-arm suspension, ball joints usually is built-in with the the A-arm/lower arm.. it is installed/fitted by honda motors to have good grip.

if that is the design.. the best is to replace the whole arm with new A-arm.. comes free with bushing attached already. you may install a replacement brand as long as for the designated civic model.

most honda civic is like this..

if you think you can remove the ball joint alone and not include the A-arm.. check if there's a snap ring at the bottom of the rubber seal of the ball joint.. remove it once you have detached the lower arm from the car.. you can not hammer it for it will deform the shape of the arm and render your A -arm unusable due to loose hole to fit the ball joint. you need press-in. press-out job

Another is..see if the ball joint is bolted to the arm with extra 2 bolts.. except for the bigger nuts that connects the ball joint to the steering knuckle.. if you see those 2 bolts usually 14mm head bolt size.. then you can separate the ball joint from the A-arm without a press.

so.. 3 ways to determine the version of your suspension..

if it is built in ball joint.. best if you have it replace .. safer for you..

if you can not afford now.. leave for a awhile and save money to have it fix by professional.

any wrong procedure either cost your life and or your hand while working on it..

Hyundai Bad service and still no response from company. kindly help me?

Can anyone help me solve my problem. i emailed this to hyundai company and still got no response from them. The complaint was done on 12 oct 09

    hello

I am the owner of Santro HR51 Z 1838. The car was bought from Baltic

Hyundai , Faridabad, Haryana. I bought this vehicle on 26 june 2007.

The car was duly serviced from the showroom ( the authorised service

    centre) .

The car steering was creating problem since the car had done 12588 kms

on 8 Oct 08.The car was sent to showroom and they changed the ball

joint assy, after 2 days the car was again sent to them as the problem

was felt,so they changed the end assy tie rod.. After that their was

no noise from the steering. The car was again brought to them at

regular service at 14643kms and at 18979 kms. The cars steering was

again found noisy and unusually hard (at 21665 kms ) and it was

brought to them and they said that the cars full steering has to be

replaced and that would cost around 19000 rs. I hope you are now clear

with what happened with the vehicle.

I want to ask you that is the life of hyundai car parts just approx 21665 kms. ?

Is the customer required to pay approx 20,000 rs for spare parts and

wear and tear for every 20,000 kms i.e re 1/km?

I have been finding this problem for some time but it was not much so

that i could appreciate that , since i am not a technical person, but

when i found it to be very hard i brought it to their notice. This

defect was pointed out to the technical people in last services at

14643 kms on 5 march'09 and also on 3 aug 09 at 18979kms also but

they didnt bother about it and told me that it is alright and has no

defect. So i mean to say that the defect arose in just 9000kms or

2000kms . I am surprised that how can they tell me about it to be ok

when it is creating so much problem to the extent that it is creating

noise. I think that first the steering was a little hard which was

unnoticed by the service personel and then when the wear and tear

    continued it started creating noise.

I am surprised to say that the technical people or the mechanics at

this showroom dont or didnt pay attention to this vehicle. When i took

the delivery of the car on 8 th oct 08 i was told that it is perfect

now and after two dand just after 2 kms i am able to detect the

defect and point out but not the technical people and mechanics who

deliver the vehicle after duly checking it.After two days the end assy

tie rod was replaced.I hope i am clear in my words and explanation.

I have just bought a hyundai i-10 HR51 AF 2268.I really loved the

performance of santro and the built quality so opted for another i -

    10. I even suggested my other friends and realtives about buying

hyundai vehicle instead of maruti which has very poor quality cars.I

found this because i have used and still now bearing with maruti

product. But i faced a problem in my swift ldi. The alternator had

failed and they replaced it free of cost as the car was under warranty

but they ignored the outside fitment work which i had done in my car

which was a valid reason to cancel the warranty.

i hope that if this happens with any customer then he would have to

think twice before buying a hyundai product next time. What

explanation would i give to my friends and colleagues whom i have

advised to buy hyundai products if i am myself facing it.

It does not behove for a company like hyundai to neglect the defect

pointed out repeatedly and ask for charges for repair after the

    warranty period is over.

I hope you will take an urgent action in the matter and inform me

immediatly so that i can get the vehicle repaired. I am not driving

this vehicle since it may not create further problems.

Dr GoelHyundai Bad service and still no response from company. kindly help me?I don't know where you have complained about your problem. If you've done it just at a dealership level, I would recommend you to escalate complaint to Hyundai in your country of origin. In Canada, such things are not happening. Assuming there will be an exception, if the manufacturer in Canada will be notified of a complaint like this, they will definitely step forward to help customer. Here in Canada we have good will budgets for situations like this.

One thing I don't understand. You said that the car has just a little over 20.000 km on board and its an 07 model. Why is this still not covered under the manufacturer warranty? You bought the car in June of 07. Hyundai should have at least 3 years warranty (at least outside North American Continent where warranty is min. 5 years)

Talk to the dealership Owner/ General Manager directly. If nothing helps try contacting these guys at:

    Ball Joints?

How hard is it to change upper and lower ball joints on a 85 ford f-150 4x4, and are there any sites out there that show step by step how to, so i'll see what i'd be getting into if i tried t do it on my own? Thanks!Ball Joints? With a 4 wheel drive assy, there are many parts involved at the wheels. It's probably best to let a knowledgable mechanic do that job. I'd say it would probably take me about 5-6 hours with the proper tools. 10-12 just winging it in my garage. P.S. for little queenie. The thing about giving advice on repairing an automobile is that some people just shouldn't do it. That's just like some people shouldn't....well, they just shouldn't do it!!! LOLBall Joints? There are books and sites out there that will show you, but if you have never done it before, take it somewhere and have it done. You don't want to see the bill for them having to fix what you did originally and fix the ball jointsBall Joints?I agree. If you've never done it before on another vehicle; leave it to a pro. Your life is on the line.Ball Joints? The biggest problem in fixing ball joints is not having a car fall on you. A guy down the street from me just got killed by a tree a couple of weeks back.

The biggest mechanical problem is getting the ball joints out. You need a tool that's like a big two-pronged fork. The prongs are skinny at the front but get fatter toward the back. You have to hit the back end of it with a heavy short-handled hammer to drive the thing into the joint and separate it. Other than that it's just a matter of replacing some parts that aren't hard to figure out.

The thing about fixing cars is that some people just shouldn't try, just like some people should stay out of the kitchen. I had one guy try to help me and he'd do things like just throw the lug nuts in the grass and make wild guesses about what was wrong. Then he moved to Africa and left his car in my yard with no title and parts missing.Ball Joints? It takes special tooks for the ball joints. An you will be dealing with the front spring. Don't even try it if you haven't done it before.

The top of my toyota ball joint squirts out some lubricant when i hit a big dip. since its leaking...?

do i have to replace the whole ball joint or is there a way to refill it with lubricant. i heard it should be lubricated at every oil change. isnt there something about them being sealed or not? how much would it cost to replace one ball joint? parts and labor. thanks! The top of my toyota ball joint squirts out some lubricant when i hit a big dip. since its leaking...?Most ball joints are %26quot;lifetime lubricated and should be sealed if they don't have a grease fitting on them. But there's a catch-the lube is good for the life of the joint, NOT the car-go figure. If the boots torn, its probably at the end of its life also. THAT being said, there are a couple of aftermarket suppliers of parts(Dorman is one) that make all shapes and sizes of boots to replace over the ball joint. But as a Tech, I can't see why you'd go to the trouble to replace the boot when replacing the joint is almost as much work...........
